ATLANTA, Ga. (August 16, 2021) – Gas South, the largest retail natural gas provider in the Southeast, celebrates the selection of president and CEO Kevin Greiner as one of the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s “Most Admired CEOs” in 2021. As one of three honorees from the “Utilities & Energy” category, Greiner will be honored at a ceremony on Aug. 19 at the Coca-Cola Roxy, located inside The Battery Atlanta.
Greiner has steered Gas South from its inception in 2006 to its current position as one of the country’s most respected providers of retail and wholesale energy, with a customer base of approximately 425,000 in Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Ohio, New Jersey, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee, Kentucky and West Virginia. Gas South’s influence reached new heights in late 2020 when it acquired Florida-based Infinite Energy, a deal that made the company the top natural gas provider by sales volume to retail customers in both Georgia and Florida.
“As a leader, I believe setting the tone for any organization starts with leadership, so this recognition from the Atlanta Business Chronicle is very meaningful,” said Greiner. “At a time when our company is experiencing so much exciting growth, I take tremendous pride in my role as CEO and am grateful for the opportunity to lead our incredible team into the future.”
This honor from the Atlanta Business Chronicle is one of many collected by Greiner in 2021, including his appearance on Georgia Trend’s list of the “100 Most Influential Georgians” in January, followed by claiming the mantle of Georgia Trend’s “Most Respected Business Leader” in May.
Named one of Atlanta’s top workplaces by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution for the fifth time in since 2016, Gas South also made headlines this summer when it announced the rebranding of Gas South District, Gwinnett County’s entertainment hub and one of the top destinations for live events in the Southeast.
Greiner did his undergraduate studies at Wesleyan University and holds master’s degrees from the University of Michigan in business administration and natural resource policy. An active member of the community, he currently serves as the board chair for the YMCA of Metro Atlanta, and on the boards of directors for the Georgia Chamber, Metro Atlanta Chamber, Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education, Select Cobb, Learn4Life and the Atlanta Opera.
