ATLANTA, Ga. (January 27, 2025) - Gas South gifted $4.1M in 2024 to nonprofits focused on basic needs, education and healthcare across Georgia and Florida. This commitment was further amplified by more than 1,700 volunteer hours from team members.
Some of the projects Gas South funded include St. Vincent de Paul’s Motel To Home program for unhoused families, Ser Familia providing mental health and educational support to Latino students and Covenant House of Georgia offering music therapy sessions with an in-house studio.
“Giving back to our community is one of the most important ways to live up to our purpose of being a fuel for good,” said Kevin Greiner, president and CEO. “I’m incredibly proud to see our team’s dedication to giving back, whether it’s volunteering at Atlanta Community Food Bank or funding adaptive swim lessons at YMCA for kids and teens with special needs.”
This latest milestone brings Gas South's total philanthropic contributions to more than $20 million since its inception in 2006, with 5% of the company’s annual profits dedicated to causes that uplift children and families in need.
Gas South’s Be A Fuel for Good® efforts impacted 34 charities with more than 300 employees participating in volunteer opportunities throughout the year, per the released 2024 Annual Impact Report.
“When we think of impact, we think it’s more than just giving money to lots of nonprofits,” said Carley Stephens, director of corporate giving. “We’re committed to actively supporting our partners’ initiatives and addressing their needs. We also encourage our customers to take an active role in making a difference in their local communities.”
Gas South also engaged its customers in selecting two winners for its Impact Investment Award of $100K each. A record-breaking 12,000 customers, employees and community members participated in the vote, choosing Mosaic Georgia and The Creative Academy as the recipients of the award.
